Gail Marie Gorniak, of Warren, age 74, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at her home. She was born April 24, 1937 in Detroit the daughter of the late Peter and the late Grace (nee: Collins) Stone. Along with the loving and unselfish work that poured from her servant's heart as a wife and mother, Gail managed to devote a good portion of her life within the professional world as well. For over 38 years, she was most proud of the dedicated service she rendered as a Dental Assistant with the University of Detroit. Possessing a genuine and unique passion for the career path she chose, Gail was an integral part of a team whose job was to bring more beauty into the world by helping to enhance the smiles of their clientele. Perhaps, from the deep recesses of her heart, the 'importance of a smile' is what made her work so rewarding. Yet of all the smiles she helped to enhance, the reward & blessing to those who knew Gail was the smile she shared that enhanced all of their lives with a warmth that melted hearts. When she wasn't working, Gail enjoyed a number of pastimes that always seemed to envelop the joys of shared experiences. She loved playing various games and cards, both in large and small settings alike. When it came to the bigger venues, you'd often find Gail testing her luck in the ever-popular game of Bingo. For the more intimate gatherings, two of her favorite card games were Euchre and Pinnocle. Not much came closer to defining the word 'fun' than the laughter and competition she shared around the card table with family and friends. Another of her special pastimes was found in the joys of swimming, a sport in which she was an avid participant, and an ever-familiar face at her favorite swimming hole, the Warren Woods Pool. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend,'those who knew her best will attest to the strengths and character traits that set her apart. From her independence that stood its ground,'to her unique & entertaining sense of humor that permeated the funny bones of all,'to her guiding & devout faith that defined the love and compassion she shared, whether to her fellow man or amongst her church family at St. Sylvester Catholic Church,'these are but a few of the eclectic traits that God designed in this special lady whose life touched a multitude of hearts. Gail leaves behind a legacy of love that is unmatched by any other, and whose spirit will continue to bless each heart & mind that remembers and reflects. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Gail was the beloved wife of the late Robert. Loving mother of Cathy Rosaasen, Lisa Grosch, and Robert (Susan).
