Gary Joseph Goldwater

Gary was the beloved husband of Sylvia, his devoted wife of more than 66 years, whom he married in December 1959. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering commitment. He was the cherished father of Herbert (Lori) Goldwater and Danielle Goldwater. Gary was a proud grandfather of the late Francesca Munafo, Natalie (Aaron) Kempter, Garik Goldwater, and Helena Goldwater. He was also the loving great-grandfather of Morganna Pruitt, Gabriella Pruitt, and Harlow Kempter, and the proud great-great-grandfather of Simon. He is further survived by many beloved nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warmth and generosity. Gary was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry Charles Goldwater and John Malfait Goldwater.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Gary carried his sense of service and camaraderie throughout his life. He truly enjoyed spending time with friends and never met a stranger. Gifted with the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Gary especially treasured the friendships he shared and the conversations he had with his fellow veterans at Harbor East.

Gary loved playing cards with family and friends and seemed to master just about every game he played. Whether sharing stories around the table or enjoying a friendly competition, he found joy in bringing people together.

Above all else, Gary's greatest love was his family. He treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will forever be held close in their hearts. His kindness, quick wit, welcoming spirit, and enduring love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren, MI, on July 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren, MI, on July 10, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
