My Prayers are with you and your family at this time

My cousin Gayle was really funny. I always loved how she would do funny raps for me. She was always happy no matter how much pain she was in. I remember when we went swimming with her and had a blast. I will miss her alot.

Our family will never be the same. I hated seeing Gayle so sick and weak. In the few months she was sick she never complained, she was to busy worrying about all of us. I never thought I could feel such sadness. I truly know now what a broken heart feels like. Gayle you are missed so much.

My dearest Gayle, I am broken hearted that you are gone, but I know that you are at peace with the Lord. The Colbeck family will never be the same without you. I will always treasure the fun times that we shared and the outrageous things that you did to make us all laugh. I will miss your wit and humor, I will miss your "Billy" jokes, I will miss your simplicity, I will miss your Hawaiian shirts,Football jerseys,but most of all I will miss the unconditional love that you showed us all. My dear Aunt Gayle, They said you were known to be a Minnesota Vikings fan. Shame, shame. Everyone knows you were the biggest Green Bay Packer fan ever and only paid the Vikings any attention when Brett signed with them last season. You were truly one of a kind and will be missed by all. I have great memories of you from my childhood. My favorite was when you and Chris Fraga took me to the Tiger's game when I was nine years old and you had scored seats on top of the Tiger's dugout. You were working at Lindell AC and had juice with the players. One of your player friends gave me a baseball and then after the game we met Ron Leflore at Lindell's and you took our picture together. My mom still has the picture. Thank God you are not suffering anymore!! Tell Grandma and Grandpa I miss and love them and think about them everyday. Your memory will live with me for the rest of my days on earth. I will always tell my children about their Great Aunt Gee, formerly Aunt Montana! Dearest Gayle, I'm so sorry we lost contact over the years. I remember so vividly playing together on Buckingham...we played war and Mary Ellen and I were always the nurses. Remember all the good times and their were so many. So many years have past. I am hoping you had a good life. As I read the posts here you were as I remember you.....the best. To the entire family, I'm very sorry for your loss, Gayle will be missed.

It has been over 30 years since I last saw Gayle, and yet my memories of her are as clear as if I saw her yesterday. A mere mention of her name could bring a smile to my face. She was so funny at times that you couldn't be down if Gayle was in a good mood. I've asked about her over the years and her good friends, Donna LeRoy and Laura Dindorf, would keep me informed of her escapades. But, sadly, there is a hole in the world now. She left us too, too soon. Rest in peace, Gayle.

Gayle was my comfort and joy. She was always there for me. She gave me comfort when I needed it, she made me laugh when I was sad, and gave me advice when I didn't know what to do. I can't imagine not having her with us anymore. We grew up together and have shared so many experiences together good and bad. Gayle had the biggest heart of anyone I know. She would do anything in the world for her family. No one could be around her and not laugh. She had her own special sense of humor. I will miss calling her and hearing her stories and jokes and doing "Aunt Esther". Gayle always had a positive attitude. I love her and miss her and will never forget all the fun times we had. I am so glad to have had Gayle in my life and as my cousin. I know for sure there are alot of people in heaven having a good time right now. Too many memories to even put into numbers but I will remember Gail's amazing humor most. She had the ability to laugh at herself, and had a gift of making people laugh at themselves! I'm still in shock and will always keep Gail in my heart and know she is already pulling strings for all of us already!....That's who she is. Gail is everyones aunt! She is missed dearly.

While I did not know Gayle personally, I always enjoyed hearing the many 'colorful' stories as told by Elaine and Sharon. I know these last few months have been so very difficult, but knowing that she is now pain-free and at peace is a comfort. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Tamara

Here it is , the eve of my best friends memorial, and I am at a loss of words...How odd that I am writing in her "guest book"... I met Gayle the first day of the ninth grade. We were 13 just years old. I was new to Detroit and didn't know the neighborhood or anyone.... She asked me to walk her half way home and talk.I ended up walking her to her door, and she laughed at how she could make me walk her all the way...That was the beginning of our 41 year friendship..I have millions of stories and hope to share some of them with Sharon and Elaine in the future..After all I am only allowed 250 words in this guest book..haha ..The loss of my best friend is HUGE but not as huge as all of the love and memories that I will keep tucked warm in my heart..Gayle has given me so much and is a part of me..I will miss her everyday of my life.. My wonderful neice Gayle had a heart as good as gold. Gayle was always there for me. Im so, so sorry I wasn't healthy enough to see her more in the last few months and to be there for her family. We were both in the hospital together a couple months ago and as sick as she was she would have her nurses wheel her into my room to visit me. That is just how Gayle always was. I had a very loving and unique relationship with her. She loved to call people and use my voice and tell them she was me ("Aunt Esther") She entertained alot of the family with that. I love Gayle and will always remember her for her kindness and humor. It was a privilege to have her as my neice. She touched my life in a million ways. It would be impossible to ever replace the relationship we had. All of you took wonderful care of Gayle during all her difficult times and she loved all of you so very much. She is missed so much.

Gayle made life fun, you could not be around her without laughing. We certainly won't be smiling as much. She will desperately missed.

I miss my cousin Gayle. I mostly miss her funny stories. I used to talk to her on the phone all the time about the Simpsons and she thought she knew alot about them but she didn't, I had to tell her who everyone was. I wish she was still here. I love you Gayle
