Genevieve was born on November 29, 1931 in Olyphant, Pennsylvania, to her late parents, Stanley J. and Barbara Misiura. She grew up in Pennsylvania alongside her eleven beloved siblings. At the age of 19, Genevieve married the love of her life, Stanley, and began a new chapter when they moved to Hamtramck, Michigan. Together, they built a life filled with love and raised their cherished daughter, JoAnn Borys.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Genevieve found comfort and strength in her relationship with God. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Martin de Porres in Warren, Michigan, where she attended Mass faithfully for many years. When she was no longer able to attend in person, she continued to nurture her faith by watching Mass on television. Her devotion remained a meaningful part of her life, a quiet reflection of the values and beliefs she held dear.
In her quieter moments, Genevieve enjoyed getting lost in the pages of mystery novels, finding pleasure in the twists and turns of a good story. Yet some of her most treasured moments were the simple, precious times spent with her daughter and granddaughter. Especially their Sunday dinners together. The time they shared brought her great happiness, and the love they gave her was a cherished part of her life. These memories, filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness, will remain a lasting reminder of the special place Genevieve held in their hearts.
Genevieve will be remembered for her enduring faith, her love for her family, and the many years of memories she created with those closest to her. Though her passing leaves a deep sense of loss, her family can find comfort in knowing that the love she shared and the life she lived will continue to be treasured for generations to come.
Genevieve is the beloved mother of JoAnn Borys and the cherished grandmother of Ashley Borys. She also leaves behind many loving family members and dear friends who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Stanley, and her eleven siblings: Stanley, Joseph, John, Anthony, Louis, Eugene, Edward, Helen, Millie, Josephine, and Marian.
Visitation will take place on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, Michigan 48093.
