Gerald Henry Brock

Gerald Henry Brock, age 78 and a longtime resident of Warren, Michigan, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn Michigan. Gerald was born January 25, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late John Brock and the late Helen (nee: Kalinowski) Brock.Gerald was raised in the Detroit,/,Hamtramck area where he attended St. Florian Catholic High School. It was there at St. Florian that Gerald met the love of his life and his future bride. Gerald and Carolyn were married on October 8, 1960 at St. Florian Catholic Church, a marriage that has lasted for over 55 years.Throughout his adult life, Gerald was proud to be part of the General Motors family, at the Technical Center in Warren, where he extended the utmost in dedicated service as an Engineer for over 33 years until accepting his well-deserved retirement. When he was not working, one of his favorite pastimes was spending a day on the links. Gerald loved the game of golf, and the course was often a source of great enjoyment. When not on the links or out visiting friends, you'd find Gerald at home immersed in the creature comforts he coveted. Known for being quite the homebody, one of his dearest passions was simply being with his family and watching television.Gerald was the loving husband of Carolyn (nee: Redys), and the beloved father of Jeffrey Brock and Susan Brock. He was the cherished grandfather of Payton Brock, Grayson Brock, and dear brother of Judy (Andrew) Delie, Joan (Robert) Jones and Gary (Cathy) Brock. Visitation for Mr. Brock will be held Friday, April 1st from 5-9 pm, with a 7 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Mr. Brock will lie in state on Saturday from 9:30 am, at St. Faustina Catholic Church, until the time of Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 am. Please share memories of Gerald at his memory book above.
