

Gerald Joseph Palutis, age 72 of Warren, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. John Macomb Hospital Center Warren. Gerry was born January 26, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late William Palutis and the late Rose (nee: Stempowski) Palutis. Mr. Palutis was raised in Detroit and was a 1953 graduate of St. Thomas High School. After high school he served in the Army during the Korean War. After his military service he became the chef and manager of the Polish Century Club of Detroit. Gerry and his wife both cooked for the Polish Century Club in Detroit and also the American-Polish Century Club of Sterling Heights, and St. Pats Knights of Columbus hall #3129. Jerry was an active member of all the clubs he managed and cooked for, and was also a member of Alhambra Malaga Caravan 188. Gerry resided in Warren for over 40 years, and when he was not working he enjoyed fishing, playing euchre and cards, and just socializing with his many friends. He is survived by his dear son, Jeff (Susan) Palutis. He is the loving grandfather of Jeffrey Palutis, and brother of Leonard (Sally) Palutis, Barbara Strehl, and Maryann (Glen) Brauser. Mr. Palutis was predeceased by his wife Stephanie (nee: Nowak). Visitation for Gerry will be Wednesday from 2-9 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). Mr. Palutis will lie in state Thursday 10 am at St. Edmund Catholic Church, until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Robert Witkowski.
