Gerald George Todd

Gerald George Todd, age 78, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Gerald was born August 4, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Andrew Ziolkowski and the late Lucille (nee: Snieciekowski) Ziolkowski.Gerald was born and raised in Detroit with his mother sharing a home with his Polish grandmother and father, aunt and uncle, and cousins who were like siblings to him. He loved Sunday family gatherings where they feasted on polish family dinners together.Gerald graduated from De Lasalle Collegiate High School and received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in Mechanical Engineering. After completing his basic training in the United States Army, he had a fulfilling career as a Mechanical Engineer in the automotive industry.Gerald was married to cherished wife Judy for over 49 years, and is the dear father of Mark (Jeni) Todd and Jennifer Todd. He is also the loving grandpa of Brayden, Rylan, and Kenya Todd. He adored watching his spirited grandchildren bounce and wobble around as they learned to walk. He also enjoyed many great friends, travels, and hobbies throughout his life, but nothing compared to the unbridled passion he held for his beloved University of Michigan Wolverine's football team.Visitation for Mr. Todd will be held Sunday, January 24th from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ mile) in Warren. Mr. Todd will lie in state Monday, 9am at St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church until the time of his Funeral Mass at 9:30am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Nick Zukowski. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan. The family will host a funeral luncheon immediately afterwards.
