Geraldine A. Massey

Massey,Geraldine (Gerry) A. 76, long-time resident of Warren, Michigan died peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2008 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. Born February 26, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, to Jennie (Swiderski) and Louie Kosiba, Geraldine grew up in Detroit with her sister Dorothy Rembacz. On December 31, 1958, she married the late Norris William (Bill) Massey. Together they had five children: Kim Prange, Dale (Suzanne), Karen (Bill) Kassab, Douglas (Cheryl), and Kathleen (Ronald) Virden who joined Norris (Jan), Theodore (June), Sandra (James) Castiglione, Dennis (Judy) and Linda. Geraldine was a wonderful homemaker who took great pride in all of her children's accomplishments. She was always available to lend a hand, provide advice, and give hugs to all her children and all those who lovingly adopted her as their "2nd Mom". Gerry was also the loving grandmother to 24 lucky children who include Heather, Jay, Ashleigh, Justin, Jessica, Sean, Skyler, Trevor, Sierra, Brandon, and Katrina as well as Christopher, Jason, Michael, Jennifer, Mathew, Jodi, James, Amy, Bryan, Rose, Mathew, Angela, Adam. She was a great grandmother to 16 including Zoe, Quinn and Peyton. Geraldine was a long-time member of St. Sylvester Parish in Warren and loved outings with the entire family on Lake St. Clair and in the Upper Peninsula at the family's beloved cottage. In addition to spending time with her kids, she lived for spending time with her soul mate and late husband, Bill. Whether Muskie fishing together on Lake St. Clair, playing cards with friends, spending time at the cabin in Engadine, or just holding the flashlight under the car for him, she was full of joy and happiness. While we will greatly miss her, we are grateful that our parents will spend eternity together in paradise. They will also celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary together in Heaven on December 31st. Visitation Sunday 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile). In state Monday 10:00 am. at St Sylvester Catholic Church untill time of mass at 10:30 am. Burial following mass at St. Clement Cemetery. Scripture service Sunday 7:00 pm.
