Germaine Julianne Schillio, age 89, died September 19, 2016 at her home in Warren, Michigan. Germaine was born April 6, 1927 in Chartres, France to the late Constant Allain and the late Lucienne (née: Douin) Allain.Germaine was raised in Berchéres la Maingot, France. Following her schooling, Germaine worked as a child caregiver to a local shopkeeper in Chartres, and later worked in his store as a clerk. She met her future husband, Jacques while at a dance hall with a friend who convinced her to dance with "the boy with the big nose." The young couple fell in love, married, and first started their life together in Paris, France.Germaine and Jacques eventually immigrated to Canada and later to the United States. Following Jacques' career opportunities, they settled in Michigan and began building their family home in the burgeoning community of Warren. After six months of construction, they moved with their children, puppy, and canary to their new home in 1963, with their home becoming a haven for all future generations.Germaine loved her new home in Warren and all its community offerings: from great neighbors to excellent schools for her children. She kept her home immaculate, inside and out, tending to the flowers with particular care. Germaine would wake up early every morning, still in her bathrobe, and would head outside to inspect her gardens,...plucking any weed which may have dared poke out of the soil. After making the rounds and drinking her morning cup of instant coffee, she would spend her days cooking and caring for her family. Germaine prepared delicious meals, designed and sewed all of her own clothes to include Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, with remaining quiet time at home mostly spent reading. Germaine was a voracious reader in addition to her mathematical prowess.Over the years, Germaine and her husband traveled to many of America's beautiful states, including Hawaii, along with returning to their homeland of France and traveling around Europe. When the children were younger, the family often enjoyed camping in various locations.Germaine Julianne Schillio was the beloved wife of Jacques A.
