

Gertrude Ptaszynski, age 99 of Fraser formerly of Detroit, died Monday, July 12, 2004 at Shelby Nursing Center in Shelby Township. Mrs. Ptaszynski was born July 01, 1905 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late John and Agnes Stachowiak. She is survived by her daughters Beverly-Ann Michon, and Sr. Marleen Ptaszynski, O.P.. Loving grandmother of Karen Michon, Michael Michon, Kathleen (Edward) Altamirano, and Maribeth (Mark) Yahner. Great grandmother of Elisa, Dallas, and Joshua. Her husband Joseph preceded her in death. Mrs. Ptaszynski was the eldest of nine children in her family, all of whom predeceased her. Mrs. Ptaszynski was born and raised and lived in Detroit for the majority of her life until she moved to Fraser with her husband after retirement. Mrs. Ptaszynski was a homemaker and her family was the number one priority in her life. Mrs. Ptaszynski and her husband Joseph traveled extensively throughout Europe and to Poland. She enjoyed crocheting and taking care of her family. Visitation for Mrs. Ptaszynski will be Wednesday 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common, (12 mile). A Rosary service will be recited at 7 pm Wednesday. Mrs. Ptaszynski will lie in state Thursday July 15th, 10:30 am at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 31740 Cyril Drive Fraser, until time of Funeral Mass 11:00 am. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Fr. Dale Redwanski. Memorial donations appreciated to The Capuchin Soup Kitchen, 1820 Mount Elliot, Detroit, MI 48207.
