

A native of Detroit, MI, he was born March 1, 1931 to Virgil and Willie (Skinner) Harwood, one of five children. Mr. Harwood served his country honorably and proudly in the U.S. Army in the early 1950’s.
Glenn enjoyed a long 42 year career with Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, beginning as an assembly line worker and finally retiring as an industrial engineer in 1991.
Glenn was very proud to have been the only child in his family to earn a bachelor’s degree in college, and earned his degree from Central Michigan University after 27 years of dedicated night school studies.
He moved to Homosassa in 1992 from Sterling Heights, MI and loved to play golf in the morning followed by sports on television later in the day.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers William, Ronald, Donald and Larry.
Glenn is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Elaine J. Harwood of Homosassa, FL; sons Stephen Harwood (wife Shannon) of Washington, MI and Kenn Harwood (wife Amy) of Douglasville, GA; granddaughter Amanda Harwood of Washington, MI and grandsons Jake and Tyler Harwood of Douglasville, GA and several nieces and nephews.
Glenn's family will have a Visitation on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 2:00-8:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd., Warren.
