Born in Detroit to the late Theodore and Shirley, Greg loved everyone he met and was loved dearly by all in return for his fun-loving, caring personality. Greg worked in shipping and receiving his entire life starting in 1981 and had a number of hobbies in his free time. An avid classic car and music lover, Greg owned two Firebirds that he often worked on and when he wasn’t working on his cars he could always been found at a concert. Kiss, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Iggy Popp, Yard Birds, and Molly Hatchet were some of his favorite bands to name a few. Though not a professional drummer, Greg owned his own drum set and could often be heard playing it and was quite good at it. Greg was a proud husband and father; he treasured his family above all else. Together they would go fishing, to car shows, and Greenfield village, and together they would laugh on and on. An American History enthusiast, Greg could tell stories for hours as they walked through museums. He never missed any event for his kids. Whether it was a dance recital, school picnic, or a sports game of any kind, Greg was their biggest cheerleader. They would go out to eat together to their favorite Mexican restaurant or steak houses afterword and the laughs and smiles would only continue. One of Greg’s favorite memories was of their family trip to Disneyworld and Universal Studios. A beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Greg will be dearly missed.
Beloved husband of Cindy for 32 years to whom he wed on October 28, 1990. Loving father of Melissa (Colin Flora), Gregory Jr., and Elizabeth. Cherished brother Randy (Vicki) Surratt, Jeff (Kim) Surratt, Chrissy (Jim) Fraser. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, his cats Scarlet and Cinnamon, and his pet turtle Terminator.
