Helen Kulesza, age 95 of Sterling Heights, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. She was born November 17, 1919 in Ansonia, Connecticut, daughter of the late John and the late Bronislava "Bernice" (nee: Molska) Ogonowski.Known to all as a simple, salt-of-the-earth kind of lady, Helen poured her heart into her family and gave her utmost in caring for their needs. One of the ways she shared this care was through the magic she prepared in the kitchen. Helen was an outstanding cook, with some of the family favorites being her incredible Stuffed Cabbage, those delectable Swedish Meatballs, her zesty pots of Kapusta, her mouthwatering roast chicken,...and" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...and" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...and always at the holidays, her feather-light & sugary Angel Wings. She certainly possessed a knack with her stove and oven, and made countless meals fit for a King. If you ever left Helen's table hungry, you just weren't trying! As for her talents outside of the house, there was no mistaking the green thumb Helen possessed when it came to her gardening skills. From her beautiful roses and violets,...to" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...to the bountiful pear and apple trees that adorned the yard,...to her favorite tomato plants, Helen nurtured her gardens with the utmost in TLC,...and it showed. Helen was also quite adept as a seamstress, often sewing much of the clothing that her family wore throughout the years. Yet her greatest work remains the outpouring of love she extended to her dear family. Her family and friends meant the world to her, and were often part of the sweetest joys and memories she held dear. She leaves a legacy of love that will be remembered forever,...and she'll be missed immensely. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Henry. Dear mother of Ron (Julia) Kulesza and Jeanette (Leo) Cionka. Loving grandmother of Katherine (Brian) Loos, Eric Cionka, Michael Cionka, and Joel (Minyoung) Kulesza. Devoted sister of Rose (the late Ted) Kulesza, Stanley (Catherine) Ogonowski, and preceded in death by siblings, Casimer (Rose) Ogonowski, Harriet (the late John) Koviak, and Chester (Mary) Ogonowski. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation for Helen will be held on Thursday, April 16th from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm Scripture Service, at the D.S.
