Herman married his first wife Gladys and to that union Terrance and Alisa were born. Herman later married Lula Haynes and to that union Calvin was born. Herman was incredibly hard working, spending 39 years as an electrician for Great Lakes Steel. He loved his job and would work overtime whenever he could and making as much money as he could. He proudly served in the United States Army for 3 years. In his later years, he gained an interest in golf and would go out to the range with his son Terrance. He also enjoyed the game of chance, especially trying his luck with the lottery. Chess and checkers were a favorite and he would play with whomever he could. He would enjoy a good conversation about politics over a delicious plate of soul food.
Herman is the beloved husband of 30 years to the late Gladys Haynes and to Lula Haynes for 12 years. The loving father of Terrance Haynes, Alisa Townsel, and Calvin Haynes and stepfather of Antony Fears. The cherished grandfather of Ashley (Melvin) White, Terrance Christopher Haynes, Ian Townsel, Isaiah Townsel, and Alexis Townsel. Dear brother of Viola Hunter, Robbie Robinson, sister in law to Frances Watson. Treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service will be held in his honor for the immediate family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ahpwarren.com for the Haynes family.
