Irene Jane Barnes

Irene Jane Barnes, age 81, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Windemere Park Assisted Living in Warren, Michigan. Irene was born May 19, 1936 in Hamtramck, daughter of the late John and the late Antonina (nee: Cyronek) Wiencus.Irene and her two sisters were raised in the small Polish community of Hamtramck. The family would remain in Hamtramck through Irene's graduation from St. Ladislaus High School. Irene's Catholic upbringing instilled within her a strong sense of faith. She was an active member of St. Faustina Catholic Church in Warren for many years. Irene was a longtime employee at Champion Spark Plug for many years. She started her career at Champion in the assembly department, but would eventually work her way into the role as an inspector.Irene was the beloved sister of Dolores Bykowski and Janet (Edward) Ferrari; the dear aunt of James (Lisa) Ferrari, Gina (Thomas) Conlon, Tina (Eric) Anderson, Nina (Charlie) Yankee, Christina (David) Evans, Dina (Bradley) Harris, and great-aunt of Holly, Benjamin (Kelley), Emily, Kelly, Megan, ELizabeth, Theodore, Jessica, Andrew, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Mathew, Jack, Lauren, and Nicholas. Visitation for Irene will be held Sunday, April 8th from 3-9 pm, with a 6 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren. She will lie in state on Monday, April 9th from 10:00 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 E. Twelve Mile Road, Warren, MI 48093.
