Jacob David Miller

Jacob David Miller, age 66 of Warren, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. He was born May 7, 1948 in Detroit, son of the late Nedson and the late Marguerite (nee: Vaudrin) Miller. Jacob was a proud veteran of the US Army who served his country faithfully during the Vietnam War. Jacob worked for the City of Royal Oak from 1972 until his retirement in 2005. Jacob was extremely proud of the fact that he hired into the City of Royal Oak as a heavy equipment operator and when he retired he held the position of Supervisor of the City Sewer Department. He was a master of all trades. Jacob loved the water, and owned numerous boats throughout his lifetime. Along with boating, he also loved to spend a lot of his time on the water fishing. His other passion was found in the sport & recreation of Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was a member of the HOG Club out of Wolverine Harley Davidson. He just, in the last few months, purchased a brand new triked Harley Davidson so he could continue to enjoy the open roads as his physical abilities were in decline.Jacob was the beloved husband of the late Sue, and dearest companion of Barbara Szulborski.. Cherished father of Vicki Carlson, and step-father of Suzanne (Sam) Smith, Michael (Madel) Hunt, Kathleen (Donald) Jasinski, and Bridgett (Joe) Salanitro. Brother of Thomas (Tina) Miller, Jerry (Ann) Miller, Marion Baldino. He was preceded in death by siblings: Nedson, Dorian, Mary and David. Loving Grandfather of Alyssa, Amber, Brad, Brittany, Chase, Elizabeth, Kaitlin, Kourtni, Lorna, Maria, Melissa, Phillip and Robbie, and Great-Grandfather of Richie, Becky and Tyler. A Memorial Service for Jacob will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:30 am at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren.. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until time of the memorial service.Please share memories of Jacob at his memory book.
