James G. Opalewski, age 49, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at his home in Warren. He was born March 2, 1961 in Detroit, the son of Dorothy (nee: Blair) Opalewski and the late John Opalewski. Jimi graduated from Cousino High School's Class of 1979. Jimi worked hard as the founder and owner of Airtron Heating & Cooling. He was described as the best there was in the business, a perfectionist to say the least. Jimi was so meticulous in his work that even if it took some extra time to get the job done right, he had no problem paying attention to the details. This dedicated work ethic extended beyond the means of his career. He knew how to fix anything and was happy to help. The detail he showed to friends and family didnt go unappreciated. He was a kind hearted individual, an all around great guy, and most of all, an amazing friend and family man. He was dedicated to his wife, Diane and his son, Chad, both whom he loved so much. He was the rock of the family, and was especially good to his mom. When Jimis father passed, he took it upon himself to make sure his mom was well taken care of in every aspect. When Jimi wasnt so busy being the number one husband, father, son, brother or uncle, he enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish, swim, be outside in the sun and go boating. Because of Jimis love of nature, he always seemed to have a summer glow all year round. To sum up Jimi in seven words, To know him is to love him. He will truly be missed by all who knew him, especially by his loving family. Jimi was the beloved husband of Diane (nee: Felczak). He was the loving father of Chad. Dear son of Dorothy. Brother of Daniel (Phuong), Diane (Leon) Verschueren, Mary (Paul) Hellenberg, Linda (John) Novinski, Kathy (James) Burnett, and Thomas (Theresa). Jimi is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Jimi will be held on Saturday from 3-9 pm and on Sunday from 2-9 pm with a 7 pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile Road.) Jimi will lie in state on Monday at 10:00 am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Sylvester Catholic Church. Officiating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Gary Schulte.
