James Edward Salisbury, age 86, a lifetime resident of Warren, Michigan, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan. James was born July 24, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late James Edward Salisbury and the late Mary Alice (nee: Hamden) Salisbury.James was raised in Warren and at the early age of 18 entered the military where he served in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, James married and lived in Florida for a short time before returning home to Michigan.James worked for the city of Warren's animal control department and later left to become a truck driver, working for Short's delivery and later Smith Transportation. He was a faithful member of the teamsters and retired after 25 years.When James was not working, he enjoyed bowling, playing shuffle board, hunting and fishing, and playing euchre and cards with friends and family. During retirement, James moved to Alpena where he further enjoyed hunting and fishing.James was the beloved husband of the late Barbara and dear father of Linda (Joe) Andrzejewski, Jim Salisbury, Sandy Walsh, Robert (Sharon) Salisbury, and John (Patricia) Salisbury. He was also the brother of Laura (Ed) Verduin, Mary Fewer, and Betty (Stan) Suchey. Mr. Salisbury is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.Mr. Salisbury's visitation will be held Wednesday, January 25th from 5-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren.
