Jeffery Fritz, age 55, died suddenly at his home in Shelby Township, Michigan on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Jeffery was born August 13, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan, son of Mamie Vance and the late S.R. Fritz Jr.Jeff graduated from Cherry Hill High School in Inkster, a proud member of the class of 1978. He later attended trade school where he learned the skills of CAD, a form of computer designing. Jeff put his skills to work within the automotive industry until health problems forced an early retirement. Throughout his life, music was always Jeff's true passion and he loved sharing that passion with others. Many may remember Jeff's band, "Cajun" and the sounds they brought to numerous audiences throughout the Midwest and Canada in the early 80's,...as" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...as well as some hometown favorite locales, too. When it came to Jeff's need to sing & perform, the handwriting was on the wall at the early age of 15 when he won a teenage vocalist contest at the Buck Lake Ranch in Angola, Indiana. From there, it was merely winning the hearts of his loyal fan base and providing them the utmost in stellar entertainment, awesome tunes,...and yes, even laughter. Until recently, Jeff had plans and was truly hoping to play again at the local watering holes and clubs with his band. Yet his music lives on in the hearts & performances of those he mentored throughout the years, and the willingness he showed in teaching others to play the guitar,...as well as some other finer points of his music knowledge.Jeff had a heart of gold and cared deeply for others. However, his greatest joy and pride was found his son, Jeffery, with whom he held in the highest regard. He was always there in support of Jeffery, and never-more-so than when he was coaching his son in youth football and hockey. And when it came time for a little sporting pleasures of his own, Jeff never lost faith in his beloved Detroit Lions,...he watched every game and cheered the loudest for his boys in the Silver & Honolulu Blue. He was also quite adept and talented at the game of billiards. Jeff was not only an avid pool player right here at home, but took his talents on the road in the many tournaments he participated in around Michigan. Jeffery is the cherished father of Jeffery Everett Fritz. He is survived by his loving mother, Mamie Vance, former wife, Linda (nee: Thomas) Fritz, and first wife, Sue (nee: Flores) Fritz.
