Jill Mavis Rastelli passed away suddenly on May 7, 2026, at the age of 63. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, loyal friend, and compassionate caregiver, Jill lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Jill is survived by her beloved husband, George Rastelli; her children, Giorgio and Jaclyn Rastelli; her sisters, Joy Mavis (Mike) Jolly and Nancy Mavis; her in-laws Cesar (Sharon), Guido (Mary) and Bill Rastelli; and many nieces and nephews whom Jill adored. She was preceded in death by her parents Ellis and Jackelin; her siblings, Richard and Jackie; and her in-laws Alfeo and Maddalena.
Above all, Jill treasured her husband, children, family, and friends. She was a steadfast advocate for her children, enthusiastically supporting them from the sidelines throughout the years and being a mainstay in their adult lives. Her love and pride in her family were evident in everything she did.
Jill was known for her joyful spirit, deep faith, conservative values, and compassion for others. She had a remarkable sense of humor and a gift for bringing people together. Jill found joy in gardening and took pride in creating welcoming spaces for family and friends to gather both here in Grosse Pointe and in Harbor Springs. Her caesar dressing and delicious Christmas cookies were appreciated by all.
A true card enthusiast, Jill was always ready for a game and especially loved Contract Bridge, whether playing at the kitchen table or at duplicate tournaments. Jill achieved the distinction of Life Master. Her quick wit and competitive spirit made her a favorite at every table.
Jill was staunchly conservative. She was smart, kept herself informed, and was always ready and willing to debate the facts.
Professionally, Jill dedicated many years to elder care, where her warmth and kindness touched countless families. She was deeply committed to serving others and generously volunteered her time at her children’s schools; and served on the boards for the Detroit Industrial School, and the Beaumont Hospital Grosse Pointe Assistance League.
Jill was held in the highest regard by all who knew her and she will be dearly missed. Her legacy of love, faith, service, and generosity will remain in the hearts of her family and many friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, Grosse Pointe Farms, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the gathering space at the church.
