Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 18,1935 to the late George and Isla Egeland. She was dedicated to her family and loved her church friends whom she considered family throughout her entire life.
Joan loved Jesus and served in several churches whenever and wherever she could as a Sunday School teacher, Nursery worker, greeter, choir member, Pioneer Girls guide, Awana leader and member of the hand bell choir. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church for almost 30 years and found great joy in ministering to others through sending notes and birthday cards. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of Missions and sponsored a child through Compassion International.
Joan loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, her family, friends and her church family. She just loved people and wanted to see them all saved and spending eternity in Heaven. She was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ and told everyone she could about Him. She was a hugger and a joy giver; she let her light shine for Jesus. She loved to host tea parties for her “lady friends”, host family dinners, was very patriotic and loved holidays, especially Easter and Christmas. Christmas Eve at Mom and Dad’s was a long-time tradition.
She was happily married to Ronald Morgan for 64 years before he entered the Kingdom of Heaven on December 22, 2021. Then the Lord saw fit to bring another loving man into her life and on April 12, 2025 she became the beloved wife of Troy Duncan. She was blessed to have two men who loved her fiercely and took amazing care of her. She called them her “two handsome soldier boys” as they were both Army veterans.
Joan was a dedicated mother to John “Jack” Morgan, Cindy (John) Winter, and LaVonne Morgan, a loving grandmother to Adam (Jaime) Winter, Sara Landis (Nick/fiancé), Marc Winter, Taylor Williams, Connor Morgan and caring great-grandmother to Scarlett, Ethan, Liam, Lenna, Maci, Ace, and Cyrus. She was a cherished sister of Sharon (Rich) Rzeppa and Bev (the late Bob) Outland and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
