Joan Laura Rossi

Joan Rossi age 91 of Warren passed away on Saturday, July 4th, 2026 after a long illness. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Stanley Bojarski, and the late Nettie (nee) Gałęziewski. Joan graduated from Sweetest Heart of Mary High School in Detroit. She was married to the late Mario Rossi for 53 years before his death in 2010. Joan was a homemaker who raised three sons and one daughter. Joan was an excellent cook who would always prepare meals from scratch mostly with vegetables grown in her backyard garden. Joan's passion was walking and she would walk to stores in the community almost daily. She also adored animals, especially her two cats. At just four feet eight inches tall, Joan had a larger than life personality and would often initiate conversations with others wherever she went. She was especially proud of her Catholic faith and lived her life according to how others would want to be treated.

She is survived by her children Dino (Cindy), Jim (Elizabeth), Paul (Lisa) and Angela (Scott), grandchildren Vincent, Mark, Mario, Teresa, Nicholas, Mario, Alexis, eight great-grandchildren and sister Linda Lingerfelt. She is predeceased by her twin sons, Mario and Martin, and her siblings Stanley and Lee.

Joan will lie in state, Friday, July 10th at St. Mark Catholic Church in Warren at 9:30 in addition to mass at 10:00 am with burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
