JoAnn Meininger

JoAnn Meininger, age 79, died on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the St. John Providence Hospital in Southfield. She was born in Smithfield, Ohio on May 9, 1934 to the late Josephe Lovisa and the late Josephine (DiBin-Lovisa) Martellini. JoAnn was known to all as being extremely kindhearted and compassionate, she was the kind of person who always brought joy into the lives of others. She had a warm smile to share and a hand to lend when the need arose. Her friends at church can attest to what a giving spirit she had, always providing her time and assistance. It was the simple things in life that JoAnn treasured and loved. She loved her time with her family and especially her dogs – "Russell" and "Maggie" and other dogs beforehand. Her enjoyment stretched to the watching the cooking channel, Fox News, sewing, shopping to sitting back listening to some classical music.Without question, JoAnn was the consummate people person and loved interacting with her fellow man. She definitely had a soft spot in her heart for children, especially when it came to her cherished grandchildren. She found great enjoyment in the playful times they shared and the memories that they built together. A loving & wonderful wife, mother and grandmother,…she was the absolute BEST! The legacy of love she leaves behind is strong and true, and she will be missed immensely.JoAnn was the beloved wife of 43 years to the late Arley. A loving mother to Ruth (Bill Lindsey), Lois, and Janet (Tom) Matichuk, and a devoted grandmother of Natalie, Melissa, Jonathan, Anna, Christopher, Michael, and Olivia. Visitation Monday, December 2, 2013, 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren. Visitation Tuesday, December 3, 2013, 10am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East Cemetery in Clinton Township.Donations appreciated to Leader Dogs for the Blind or Michigan Animal Rescue League in Pontiac.
