Joe graduated from high school before making his way to Michigan. It was there that he met the love of his life, Marie, at church in Detroit. The couple married in 1961 and settled in Clinton Township, MI, where they raised two daughters, creating a lifetime of cherished memories.
Joe’s early career saw him working in landscaping at a machine shop, but he found his true passion as a car hauler, a job he held until his retirement in 2000. After retiring, Joe and Marie spent 25 years as snowbirds in Florida, enjoying the company of friends and family. Their shared love of travel, antiquing, garage sales, and golf brought them joy, as did their years of service to the Lord. Joe was deeply involved in his church community. He was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Warren, MI, as well as Astatula Baptist Church in Florida. Before Parkinson's Disease began to take its toll, Joe was an energetic leader in his church. He served faithfully as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and song leader. Whether pulling weeds or lending a helping hand with other tasks around the church, Joe's dedication to service was unwavering.
A hardworking man with a generous spirit, Joe always put his family first. He was a devoted husband to Marie, a loving father to his daughters, and a proud grandfather. He was always there for his family, ready to offer support, wisdom, or a helping hand whenever needed. His legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Wherever Joe went, he had a friend. His ability to talk to anyone he came across was a gift. Joe will be deeply missed, but his love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him. May he rest in the arms of his Savior, whom he served so faithfully throughout his life.
Joe was the beloved husband of Julie Marie for 63 years. Loving father of Tina (David) Mikszewski and Amy Jo (Matthew) Kaiser. Cherished granddad of Erica (Justin) Fleming, Amanda Kaiser, Gage Mikszewski, and Julien Mikszewski. Dear brother of Terry Lee Creek, Thomas Creek, and David Creek. Also survived by many more special friends, nieces, and nephews to mention. Joe was predeceased in death by his parents Sherman and Flossie Creek and his siblings Helen Carter, Janelle Sharp, Sherman Creek, Shelby Dine, Bettie Jean Hallman, Paul Creek, William Creek, Jack Creek, Wanda Ann Barber, Marie Smith, and Darryl Creek.
