Born in Detroit to the late Bertha and Robert King, no matter what John faced throughout his life he was always happy. Because of his quick-witted sense of humor, everyone always wanted to around John. A very caring man by nature, John was a proud grandpa; he never missed a birthday or holiday, tried to attend sporting events, partake in school fundraisers, and made sure to express how proud he was of them for major milestones.
He was an avid sports person, loved his Detroit Red Wings and U of M, he was even a season ticket holder and never missed a home game. What he enjoyed most of all was spending time with his family. Whether it was going camping, a backyard barbecue or just visiting, that’s what he loved most. He will be dearly missed by all who survive him.
Beloved father of John King II, and Nicole (Brock Lewis) Kiester. Loving grandpa of Joshua King, Kaylee King, Eric Kiester, Marcus King, Abigail Lewis, and Max Lewis. Dear brother of Robert King. Cherished step-son of Fern King.
Visitation Friday, January 12th from 2pm until 8pm with a funeral service at 7pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren.
