A devoted husband, John was the loving partner of the late Colleen Lambert, with whom he shared many cherished years of marriage and family life. He was the beloved father of Michelle Lambert and Michael (Lisa) Lambert, and is preceded in death by his sons Mark and Matthew Lambert. John was a proud and caring grandfather to Paige, Nolan, and Mark Lambert. He is also survived by his beloved dog and best friend, Bailey, who brought him joy and companionship in his later years.
John proudly served his country as a Navy Corpsman attached to the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his military service, he built a fulfilling career that spanned several decades in finance at General Finance, Comerica Bank, and AmSouth Bank.
Deeply rooted in his faith and community, John was a founding member of St. Malachy Catholic Church. He was an active member of both the VFW Bruce Post in St. Clair Shores and Amvets Post 57 in Harper Woods. Always generous with his time, John volunteered with Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers and delivered meals to seniors through Meals on Wheels.
John embraced life fully. He loved playing euchre, watching football, and was famous among friends and family for his epic Fourth of July pool parties. Above all else, he treasured time spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories and sharing laughter.
