John Robert Mace, age 62, passed away on March 30, 2021, in Warren, Michigan. He was born on January 17, 1959, in West Virginia, to his loving parents John and Elizabeth Mace.

John will be dearly missed by his sons Cory (Nicole) Mace, and John (Nicole) Mace and daughter Julie Kumm. His cherished grandkids Natalee Mace, Zackery Mace, Lorna Mace, Kylie Mace, Adalynn Mace, Derek Nitzh, Allyson Kumm, and Daniel Kumm. His caring siblings Mary “Pepper” Mann, Wanda Corso, Roberta Jo Mann, Julia Kelly, Karen Corso, and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy and granddaughter Taylor Nitzh.

John was an avid lover of the Detroit Tiger, Lions, Red Wings, and U of M football. He loved spending time with his family and friends. John also enjoyed camping and tailgating.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, starting at 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, at Masonic, in Warren, Michigan.

My dad, maybe not bio but 30 yrs of love. Helped me so much.Was a great papa to my kids.Loved us loved family.brought us into a great family.He would tease me about being a bears fan asi would give it back as he was a lions fan.never ended.was fun.together we made sure his wife judy made it to barry manilow concert,he took her not really where he wanted to be.but did that for her.he actually enjoyed it.Help run my baby shower for my twins,besides the dad the only guy there.Just always wanted to help.Loved being a papa spent many years going on trips and going to dereks hockey games,never missed one.Then our trip to vegas stood up at my wedding,paid and surprised me with a hair dresser on my wedding day,made sure taylors hair was done too.plenty of fun camping trips to algonac.did a pop up camper quick..loved jello shots and a cold beer.,always busy and many hour of bingo at camping.just simple things.made everone happy.many fun years i had.would fight for his family,didnt let people do them wrong.loved his mom,when she got sick beaumont (who she also worked for) let me go home early to be with dad,was so happy to help him finally.he was great when taylor died he was right at the hospital,just cant forget those times of who was there.he was ill never forget.and the time we spent together when my mom was dying,he changed her advance directive every day,didnt wanna loose her. we fought together.never forget sitting with him when she finally died.please remember good times he did so much.gave me a dad when i didnt have one..can never forget when he dined and dashed at the big boys in birch run,had real bad service he was mad,drug me out with him.so scared but he wasnt.didnt wanna miss a hockey tournament.determined.

I'm shocked at this news. I know you're with your Jude Jude, Taylor and Nana. Pretty good company up there. I hope you are resting in peace. I have nothing but fun memories of you. You were always so nice to me, even when you were picking on me. Take it easy old man. Give nana and Tay hugs for me.
