John Miller passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on August 28, 1940, in Hamtramck, Michigan, to the late Joseph Lipinsky and the late Irene (nee: Wojechowski) Lipinsky. John was raised in Harper Woods, Michigan, and he attended Grosse Pointe South High School.
After marrying the love of his life, Marie, in 1961, the couple made their home in Warren, Michigan, where they built a life together filled with family, hard work, and cherished memories.
John began his career as a truck driver delivering asphalt and later pursued his passion for mechanics by repairing old cars. His determination and strong work ethic eventually led him to start his own business, Miller Trucking. John was known as a dependable and driven man, someone who could fix anything. Though stubborn at times, his family admired his dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including antique cars, antique radios, and ham radio operations. John also had a deep love for oldies’ music from the 1950s, especially songs by Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, and The Big Bopper.
Above all else, John was proud of his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie. Dear father of Michelle (Thomas) Plowman and John (Cara) Miller. Devoted grandfather of Alyssa (Chanse) Collins, Thomas (Grace) Plowman, and Sloane Miller. Loving great-grandfather of Luca, Liam, and Bode Collins. Brother of the late Alice Miller and the late Maryanne (the late Walter) Jarvis. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
John may not have been the lovey-dovey type, but his family always knew how deeply he loved them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him tremendous pride and joy, and his steady presence and quiet care will be deeply missed.
