John Nick Wachter

John Nick Wachter, age 87 a longtime resident of Warren, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at St. John Macomb Oakland Hospital Macomb Center in Warren Michigan. John was born July 16, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late John Wachter and the late Mary (nee: Stickel) Wachter. Mr. Wachter was raised in Detroit and served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of Private 1st Class. Following his military service Mr. Wachter worked as a Machine Repairman for over 48 years, mostly working in the screw manufacturing industry, and later retiring from General Motors Corporation. Mr. Wachters whole life revolved around his family his fondest family time was to prepare a great meal and have the entire family come to his home for a wonderful evening. He also enjoyed fishing and prior to his wifes passing he enjoyed spending quite time at home visiting with his grandchildren. John Wachter was the beloved husband of the late Laura D. Wachter, and the dear father of David Wachter, Daniel Wachter, and the late Sandy DeSmet. He was the loving grandfather of Christy, Diana, John, and the late Joey. Also Mr. Wachter was survived by his four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Emily, Brianna, Maddox, and his brother in-law Leo Bollei. Visitation for Mr. Wachter will be Monday from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday 11am at the Funeral Home.
