I was very sad and shocked to hear about this tragedy. Even though I haven't seen Joey since I moved in 6th grade, I grew up with him and have many memories from playing as kids and going to school together. When I heard about the news, I was just so shocked I broke down crying. Why does something like this have to happen to such a nice and loving person? One will never know. I'm So glad i got to meet such a wonderful guy like joe! i met him through my friends and immediately he grew on me! he was just like me always making random jokes n sayin crazy things and i loved it! i'm gonna miss him so much b/c for the past two years we have talked and hung out n became close friends!Memories never die, they stay with us in our hearts I'll Never Forget The Great Times I Spent With You Joe.. I've known joe since we were little kids. I remember hanging out with him and Samantha when she was good friends with my cousin. Joe touched many of us, and i know i was as shocked when i found out he was gone. It still feels like a dream. Joe was one of the nicest friends anyone could ask for. I remember the first time I ever talked to him was my freshman year on the bus ride to a softball and baseball game...we were both #29. And from there our friendship grew over the next 3 years. We made so many memories having movie nights in my basement with everyone and at bonfires in Brandon's backyard. Joe was a very loyal friend and never let anyone down. I love him and miss him so much, but I know that God has bigger and better things for him, and he is in a much better place. Honestly Joe you are someone special to all of us. It is amazing to think of all the ways you have affected so many lives, even now that you are in heaven. Dear Schulte Family ~ I didn't know Joe personally, but I was a close friend of Gabrielle's in elementary school and I would always remember seeing him around, playing basketball in the court for example. I'll always remember him as a great guy - nice, responsible, talented, and fun to be aorund. I am SO sorry for your loss; only the GOOD die young. Joe's not truly gone - he's always with us, watching from Heaven.

Joey I miss you so much..these past 5 months have been so long for me. Each and everyday I think of you when I pass Cousino or even the funeral home. I think of you at church when I go on Sunday's. Each day is one day closer to me seeing that beautiful smile of yours again. I sit here and cry just reading about how much everyone misses you. Everyone says to not cry and to be happy that you're in a better place, but its so hard knowing you are not here. Dear Schulte family, we are so sorry for the loss of your son Joe. As soon as we found out, are hearts were so broken for you. We live by 14 mile and heard the sirens that morning and took stock of where our two daughters (Megan, and Kristen) were at that moment. I thanked God that they were at their destinations and then prayed for whoever those sirens were for. I know that God heard my prayers and sent an angel to be with Joe at that very moment. He wasn't alone. His angel took him to heaven. You have been and will continue to be in our prayers through this difficult time. May God bless you all.

Joe you are the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for. I remember the day we became friends you almost knocked me over in math class and you wouldn't stop apologizing. Senior year you and I could spend all 5th and 6th hour just sitting in the hallway talking. You always came to visit me in Strawberry Square. I still remember the Centerline firework and you asking me to pretend I was your "girlfriend". Joe, you taught me how to be more outgoing and not to care what other people think. We have not lost you; we have gained an angel. I love you and miss you Joe.

Everyone knew you as Schulte, but I knew you as Joey my bestfriend since 2nd grade. Today my dad told me the first time I was going over to your house, my dad asked "Billy where are you going in such a hurry" and I answered "I'm going over to Joey's house", he asked "who's that?" and I say " My Bestest friend in the world". Joey I know that during 11th and 12th grade we kind of went our own ways but I wish i wouldn't of done that. You were the nicest person I had ever met in my life. The strongest kid I've ever met and the biggest teddy bear. I'm going to miss you Joey from all the good time's we had riding our bikes to Diana's to get Cream Soda FAGO, to playing hockey in the basement with Richie seeing who could score the most goals on me. You were the most perfect friend a kid could ask for and i just wish that we could of continued that later on in life but I know that your watching out for me and keeping me in line. You were like a brother to me. And now I will just have to wait to see you again and ride around in your sweet ride you have up there with all the power you could want. I was fortunate enough to meet Joe 9 days before he passed away; and just for the short amount of time I knew him, all I can think about is how much fun we had talking. My name is Christa Branchick and I have known Joe since elementary school at Fillmore. We also stayed great friends throughout Carleton and I am so happy he has been apart of my life for so many years. Even though I went to Sterling, I always would love seeing him at games, and catching up with him. I live on Glenis and I would always see Joe outside at Billy's house, and around our sub, and we would always greet eachother with a wave or hello. After senior year was over, summer came, and it was quite funny because I kept running into Joe everywhere! I ran into him 5 times in one week, at 7-11, Meijers, and various places. It will not be the same without him and I am going to miss him so much, as we all are. I am thankful he has been a great friend in my life, he is a thoughtful,loving,and caring person, and great inside and out. Joe and the Schulte family are in my heart and prayers. "May the glow of God's love light your way, and may the warmth of His embrace give you peace and comfort."

Joe has been a great friend ever since Elementary school.. he was my first boyfriend. I have had so many memories with Joe from playing flash light tag, jumping on his trampoline to going swimming in his pool. I'll never forget when Joe asked my out,we were both so nervous, we were at skateworld and the song Amazed by Lonestar was playing ever since then whenever I hear this song I think of Joe. He was seriously the nicest sweetest guy I have ever met. He will be missed but God had better plans for him and now he is shining down from heaven. My prayers are with his family. Joe was such an amazing person inside and out. He was the biggest sweetheart, and was always there when you needed him, anytime, anyday. One thing I admired most in Joe was that he NEVER judged anyone. He never called someone "the new guy" or "the fat girl" he always had something good to say about everyone. He is definately looked up to and will be for years to come. God had better plans for Joe and i'm sure he's gonna be a great angel.

Hey Joe & Family - Couldn't put down a book that a doctor recommended I read. Mitch Albom's Five People You Meet in Heaven was a wonderful and uplifting read. All I could think about was Joe .... I was hoping he met up with his Grandpa in heaven and so many others that he touched on earth while he was here for such a very short time. I think of him so very often ... whenever I drive by Cousino, look at his picture, see his family, go to Church, or hear his name. I miss him being here and seeing his family "happy". They have such great smiles that I miss not seeing on their faces. Perhaps your burden may be lightened somewhat after reading this book. You will always grieve and ache for him, and that will never change. Time will never heal your loss, but knowing you will meet up with Joe one day in heaven might ease your pain. I love you much Joe, Rose & Gabe!!! May God stay close to your heart and help you through each day always!!

I honeslty say Joe was one of the sweetest guys ever. I remember meeting Joe in catechism, I was in his class every year and always sat together. Then our freshmen year in high school we sat together again in our science class. Him and I would joke all the time and helped eachother in school. He always, always, said "hi" to me in the hallways at school or at a party and we would sit and catch up. I really can't believe he's gone and I'm so thankful to have considered him a friend and a fellow 2004 graduate. I may not of knew Joe that well in life, but I knew him through High School. He was a nice and sweet person to be around. When my brother came home from football practice and I found out he died I was touched, even though I didn't know him that well. His accident touched me and I know he'll always be our prayers. Schulte... The first time we met was at Skate World in the summer of 8th grade.. Skating was our thing back in the day. Every friday night we would have one of our parents dropped us off in front of skate world, to try to pick up sum ladies...that was so much fun... i remember the time when you had us over for a NCAA tourney...It was brinky,me justin and nate downstairs hitting the ps2 up... we ate all your sub sandwiches, and all your moms brownies.. i can still hear your voice calling me out in the halls or at parties, " What up Bino!?".. how life changes, so incredibly fast... i know ur up there lookin down on all of us.. just remember that one day we'll meet again... and we'll chill like old times... definitely... Joey,a.k.a. Joefus, I remember when I first moved here, you, Mary, Stacey, and Billy were my first friends. We'd play flashlight tag almost every night of the summer. You, Gabe and I would play house in your basement, thought your mother tells me you hated it but didn't want to break my heart. That's why I love you! You were always the first one there for me when anything went wrong. Your smile and the thought of you being by my side made most of my problems vanish. It still amazes me how someone can be so happy and cheerful everyday, i never thought anyone could be like that but you proved me wrong. I was lucky enough to meet joe 9 days before he passed away. I talked to him only 17 hours before and i listened to the voice mail he left me at 11:20 the night before, that morning. Joe was one of the kindest people I have ever came in contact with. He was always nice to everyone and never ashamed of anyone. I never heard him say one unkind thing about anyone. which makes it so hard to believe that something like this could happen to one of the greatest men I've ever known. All I can say is what an honor to have gotten to know Joe. I was the Cousino Varsity Football assistant manager. I attended every practice in the summer, and Joe was always the standout. But it wasn't just that that impressed me, it was also that he always made an effort to come and start a conversation with me on the side line. He would tell me stories about him and my brother, how they always joke around and have fun with their friends. He would ask me about myself, and would always give me pointers on different things. I always liked to joke around with him, and he was always the funniest. I'll always remember at lunch at the two-a-day football practices, Joe would always save me a seat to come sit with him and the rest of the team. He was just such a nice guy, the guy you always wanted to be like. He was smart, good-looking, well mannered, and always had a smile from ear to ear. Joe, i Cant even put it into words how much im going 2 Miss you. I can remember my Freshman Yr. u were a junior and i jus heard ur name around school and i wanted to get to kno u. Well We started to become friends n by sophomore yr. U were a big impact on me. always makin sure i did the right choices. iLL never 4get how u called 5 timez a day 2 c where the party was. I got to know Joe last year when he was dating my daughter Janelle. From the first time I met him I was so impressed and thought to myself what a great job his parents did. He would sit in the kitchen with me and would talk about his Mom and the food she would cook as I was making dinner. It was so obvious how much he loved her. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed his company and loved having him over. We will all miss you so very very much

Joey its been 9 long months since you passed away. Till this very day I still think about you all the time and look at your picture. Your beautiful smile keeps me going through out the day and just knowing that you are watchin over me, puts a smile on my face. Each day, im a day closer to seeing your wonderful face again. I can remember the first time I met Joe Schulte. It was my sophomore year at Cousino and I was in the library just looking up something for my 6th hour when this boy I had never met before came up to me and started a conversation. I have to say that Joe was one of the nicest and most caring people I have ever met. I will always remember the day I met him because everyday after that during 6th hour I would go talk to him in the library and he would always make my day just a little brighter. He was one of my best friends and I will always remember all the memories we shared together whether they were good or bad we always got through them together. Well, son its been over 5 years and you still are brought up in conversations with others through various memories you left behind. Wow I can't beleive a year without you has already gone by. Theres not a day that goes by that I don't think about you. It was so amazing to see how many people were at the site, its great to see how many lifes you've touched, you were definently one speacial person. I Miss you so much, and I know Billy does too! Amazing, one word to describe this man. Joey was what we would call the "perfect" guy. No matter what he was always here for everyone. I dont think i could possibly name one person he ever made fun of or hurt. I will never forget the time Joey tried to teach me to drive his jeep, or the woodward cruise "Nothing Bitch" or the time i had to pee really bad and wouldnt let me go into a gym to ask a guy, or my birthday party, msi, fourth of July... gosh so many awesome times! I started to talk to Joe when I was a junior, at parties, in school, after lunch. He was the nicest, non-judgemental,and funniest person i have ever met. I will never forget the high-fives he'd give to everyone in the hallways, or just the hi's and how are you's. I know he is in a much better place, and am grateful for that because he deserves it for being the wonderful person he was. I just hope everyone realizes not to take life for granted because you never know when God will decide it's your time to go. **We will all miss you Joe, and I'm positive you are one of the brightest angels in heaven.

I can still remember seeing you this same week and day last year, talking to you about your new car, and how all your classes where going.
