Julia Lois Michals

Julia was born and raised in Hamtramck and graduated from Hamtramck High School with the Class of 1955. Julia dedicated much of her life to serving her community and country. She was a former Republican Congressional Chair, Republican County Treasurer, and GOP State Committee member. She also proudly served in her professional career with the U.S. Treasury, where she retired after working as a paraprofessional and tax preparer.

Above all, Julia treasured her family. She was married to the love of her life, Ronald, and together they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary on August 30th. Their enduring love and devotion to one another were an inspiration to all who knew them.

Julia will be remembered for many things, but perhaps most of all for her beautiful smile, her warmth, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. She especially cherished time spent with her family at their cabin in the Upper Peninsula, where she enjoyed making memories surrounded by the people she loved.

Julia leaves behind a legacy of love, service, dedication, and family. Her beautiful smile and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Julia was the beloved wife of Ronald for 68 years. Loving mother of William (Nancy), Kathleen (Kenneth) Robson, Ronald, and Robert (Lynda). Cherished grandmother of William (Stephania), Elizabeth, Margaret, Stanley (Alexis), and Cameron (Sophia). Adored great-grandmother of Lucia, August, Stella, Everly, and Juliana. Dear sister of Kathleen (Duane Plagens) Stutzner.

Visitation for Julia will be held on Friday, September 4th from 3-8pm with a 6pm Scripture Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road in Warren. She will lie In State on Saturday, September 5th from 9:30am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families, 25252 Van Dyke in Center Line. Burial at Mt. Olivet in Detroit.
