Julie Ann Aker

Julie Ann Aker died Friday, November 21, 2014 at the age of 34 in Detroit Michigan. Julie was born July 12, 1980 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Karen Aker. Julie was raised in Eastpointe, Michigan and attended East Detroit High School. During her high school years, she was quite proud of her participation & contributions within both the Year Book Committee and the school newspaper. Being the creative and influential "social butterfly" everyone knew her to be, both venues offered Julie the perfect platform to share her talents with her own unique flair and panache. Following high school, Julie took a position within the healthcare industry, and would ultimately settle in to her last and longest career move as an Administrative Assistant for Bio-Magnetic MRI in Madison Heights, Michigan.When Julie was not working, she was passionate about her music...her social life revolved around the Detroit Alternative music scene where she became a familiar face, kindred spirit, and friend with many of the local area bands.Julie is survived by her loving mother, Karen Aker (former husband, Dale Stepetic), and her beloved grandmother Diane Aker. She is the cherished sister of Dalton Stepetic, and niece of Lance Aker, Kim Warmack, Jeff (Judy) Aker, Todd (Lisa) Aker, and Wendy (Tom) Jones. Julie is also survived by many loving family members and friends. A Memorial Mass will be conducted for Julie on Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Warren. A Memorial Gathering will be held at church from 9:30am until time of the Memorial Mass at 10:00am. Please share memories of Julie at her memory book above.
