Karen was the beloved wife of the late David Miller. She was the loving mother of John (Cassandra Angel) Kroll III and the late Kelly Kroll. She was the dear sister of the late Patricia (the late Melvin Jr.) Gutherie and the aunt to Melvin (Bernadette) Gutherie III, Sharon (Kevin) Galliker, and William (Debbie) Gutherie.
Karen was a woman of many talents and passions. She loved knitting and crocheting and took great joy in making beautiful things for the people she loved. A talented musician, Karen played the banjo professionally, sharing her music with audiences in Michigan, Canada and along the Mississippi River on the Delta Queen. She shared this passion with her husband David, who also played banjo.
She and David also enjoyed traveling together. They were able to visit China, England, and Hawaii.
Karen was always an independent and strong woman who lived life on her own terms. Later in life, she moved to Laughlin, Nevada, with her husband, where she and David made many wonderful friends. She especially enjoyed watching her beloved Golden Knights hockey team.
One of Karen's greatest simple pleasures was watching hummingbirds. She would lovingly give them names, a reflection of the warmth, imagination, and joy she brought to everyday life.
Instate will take place on Sunday, August 23, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, in Warren.
