

Kazimir Bartkowski, age 105, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Rosegate Assisted Living Center in Traverse City Michigan. Kazimir was born October 25, 1909 in Butler, Pennsylvania, son of the late Bernard Bartkowski and the late Antonini Zawierucha.As a young man, Kazimir moved to the Detroit area with his entire family where he eventually found work with the Briggs Corporation, and later with Chrysler Motors where he worked as an assembler and repairman. He retired from Chrysler after many years of faithful service.When Kazimir was not working, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable and rose gardens, along with keeping his lawn meticulous. He took much pride in his yard, and its appeal to the neighborhood, which made it a landscaping masterpiece. As for the inside projects, Kazimir had an affinity for home painting and painted many of the rooms in his home several times. Kazimir enjoyed his quiet time and solace by way of pan fishing on the Au Sauble River, or small game hunting in Northern Michigan. He also loved playing card games with his neighbors and buddies, with his favorites being Pinochle and Poker. Kazimer will be remembered as a steadfast and faithful man, both to his family and his church.Kazimer was the beloved husband of the late Stephanie, and is the dear father of Charlotte Kaminski and Richard (Partricia) Bartkowski. Mr. Bartkowski is further survived by his twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Mr. Bartkowski will lie in State Saturday, March 14th from 9am until time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Warren.
