Ken was a "Super Dad" to his children, Luke (Mikayla) and Alex. Whether he was cheering from the sidelines of a sporting event or supporting their musical journeys, his presence was a constant source of boundless love and encouragement. He was the beloved brother to seven siblings and their spouses, the cherished "U.K." to his many nieces and nephews, as well as his great nieces and nephews, each of whom felt the warmth of his affection.
Kind to his very core, Ken possessed a rare and remarkable gift for making friends wherever he went, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone he encountered, especially his group of buddies from the 48205, who he made a lifetime of memories with. He lived a life deeply grounded in faith, trusting God through every season with a courage and conviction that guided him through his greatest challenges.
To know Ken was to witness a man who embraced life with a radiant, infectious joy. He was an adventurous spirit who loved traveling the world with family and friends. He could often be found singing along to his favorite song, Last Kiss, enjoying the music of Kid Rock, showing off his moves on the dance floor, or trying his luck at the casino. A dedicated Detroit sports fan, he wore his hometown pride like a badge of honor, no matter where life took him.
Perhaps the greatest testament to Ken’s character was his 11-year battle with cancer. Initially given only six months to live, he defied every expectation with remarkable determination and a fearless spirit. He never once complained; instead, he faced each day with optimism and a strength that inspired everyone who knew him. He lived his life by his legendary “4 F's”: Faith, Family, Friends, and "F'in' Attitude", a motto that served as the blueprint for a life well-lived.
Ken’s light did not go out with his passing; it lives on in the countless lives he touched and the laughter he inspired. His legacy of love, resilience, and an open heart remains a beacon for all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to shine through the many lives he made better just by being in them.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Ken's memory to the American Cancer Society. Alternatively, in true Ken fashion, you are invited to honor his memory by heading to the casino, pulling up to the slots, and hopefully winning big.
Thank you all for being a part of his life.
A memorial instate will be held on Monday, July 13, from 9:30 am until the time of the memorial Mass at 10:00 am, at St. Thecla Catholic Church, 20740 South Nunneley Road, in Clinton Township.
