Kevin L. Erne, age 54, of Warren, Michigan, went to be with the Lord after passing away at his home on Saturday, February 2, 2008. Kevin was born on August 9, 1953 to William and Mary Lou Erne. He graduated from South Lake High School and attended Macomb Community College where he earned an Associates degree. After his schooling Kevin worked for Peninsula Steel, before going to work at Rogers Electrical Supply for the past 18 years as a sales consultant. He also was the companys Teamster Union Steward. Kevin was passionate about music and he loved to play the drums and listen to Jazz. He cherished attending the annual Montreux Jazz festival, and only missed one for the birth of his son. The most important thing in his life, however, was his family. He always supported his children in everything they did from going to hockey games and listening to the band practice in the basement to doing whatever it took to please his loving wife, Jan. Kevins other passion was being able to fix anything for anybody at anytime. He was always helping and dedicating his time and handyman skills to his family, friends, and neighbors. His family felt that Kevin enjoyed the time with family and friends, more than fixing and tinkering, but it gave him a great excuse to help and enjoy a free meal. His other talent was his rendition of the Blues Brothers, dancing and singing with his friend Ron. Kevin is survived by his wife Janene, his three children Kyle, Kaitlyn, and Kelsey, his mother Mary Lou, two sisters Karen Erne and Marybeth VanLewen (Rolf), two brothers Garry Erne (Terry) and Pat Erne (Ruth), and a host of extended family members. Kevin was predeceased by his father William Erne. Kevin will be missed by all and dearly remembered for his commitment to his family and friends. Visitation for Kevin will be Tuesday from 5-9 pm, and Wednesday from 1-9 pm. at the funeral home. Closing prayers for Kevin will be Thursday 10:00 am from the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 mile), to St. Anne Catholic Church, for the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Officiating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. Alberto Bondy. In lieu of flowers and to honor Kevin's memory, donations can be made to the Erne Family Education Fund to help fund education accounts for the children.
