Kirk Chubka

Passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026 at the age of 70. Kirk was born on July 2, 1956 in Hamtramck, Michigan, to his loving parents, the late Walter and Dolores (nee Oszustowicz) Chubka.

Kirk will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Matt (Cari) Chubka, and his sister, Kim (Mike) Hoffman. He was a cherished uncle to Mike, Mitch, and Andy Chubka, and Ben, Sam, and Max Hoffman.

Kirk found joy in the simple pleasures of life and had many interests that brought him happiness. He especially enjoyed gardening, fishing, mushroom picking, cooking, and golfing. Kirk enjoyed watching sports and was a loyal fan of all his hometown Detroit teams, the Lions, Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings. He also enjoyed the racetrack, where he had fun following the horses, placing a few bets, and enjoying the excitement of the day. Kirk was a proud and active member of the American Polish Century Club in Sterling Heights, Michigan, where he enjoyed the fellowship and friendships that became an important part of his life.

Faith was also an important part of Kirk's life. He had a strong and unwavering faith and generously shared it through his service to his church community. For many years, Kirk faithfully served as an usher and lector, giving his time and talents to others. His faith was a meaningful part of who he was and provided him with strength, purpose, and comfort throughout his life.

Kirk will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, through the stories shared, the traditions cherished, and the many special moments that will never be forgotten.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, Michigan 48093.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Kirk lying in state at 9:30 a.m. at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 12 Mile Road, Warren, Michigan 48088.
