Laura Marie Scott, age 54, died Friday, December 21, 2018 at the McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan following a short and courageous battle with cancer. Laura was born November 25, 1964 in Mt. Clemens to the late Theodore John Wilk and Lillian E. (nee Mickowski) Wilk.Laura spent her early years in Mt. Clemens on the family's five acre farm. When she was in the 8th grade, the family relocated to Warren where Laura would eventually attend and ultimately graduate from Warren's Cousino High School. Shortly after high school, Laura was introduced to her brother Eric's best friend, Jeffrey Ray Scott. Following a short courtship, the two would marry and soon welcome their daughter Angela into their family.Laura worked for a long time at Plymouth Shafting in Warren, then a few years ago took a job a little closer to home at Nass Controls in New Baltimore.Throughout Laura's entire life she was never more than a few miles from Lake St. Clair; her favorite times were spent on or near the water. She was an avid fisherman and truly a water enthusiast. When her feet were on dry ground, another of her favorite pastimes was enjoyed camping. Laura was one of those people who simply enjoyed having fun and had a true zest for life. In recent years she took up competitive running; she was awarded numerous medals for her accomplishments. Running proved to be the perfect mother-daughter activity for she and Angela as the two would often compete side by side.Laura was the beloved wife of the late Jeffrey Ray Scott. Loving mother of Angela G. Scott. Dearest sister of Larry (Denise) Wilk, Eric Wilk, the late Pamela Flesher, and sister-in-law of Steve Flesher. Also survived by her canine companions; Jake, Sadie and Cooper. Visitation for Laura will be held Wednesday, December 26th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren. Her Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, 10:30 am at the Funeral Home.
