Leah Jane Gancarz

Leah Jqne Gancarz, age 64 of Warren, Michigan, died Friday, December 26, 2014 at her home. Leah was born February 14, 1950 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, daughter of the late John Carr and the late Jane (nee: Ainsworth) Carr.Leah was raised in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan and graduated from the St. Clair Shores Shores School System. Soon afterwards, she married, enjoyed her role as homemaker, and went on to raise two beautiful daughters.Leah eventually returned to the workforce and was employed in various positions before settling in with the Hotel and Restaurant Industry where she worked for the Ramada Hotel chain for many years.When Leah was not working, she could often be found at one of the many malls in the area shopping for herself or buying the many gifts she did for her grandchildren whom she affectionately spoiled. Leah had a passion for family, loved to dote on her precious grandchildren, and enjoyed traveling with her husband. Quiet time at home was often spent reading or tending to her favorite cat. Leah was the beloved wife of John Gancarz, and is the dearest mother of Heather (Tony) Wente and Deanna (Joe) Nowakowski. She was the loving grandmother of Declan & Cady, and is the dear sister of Diane Smothers, John (Sandy) Carr, and Norma (Ron) Seely. A Memorial Visitation for Leah will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 2-6pm, with a 5pm Prayer Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 1/2 mile) in Warren.
