Lina Mantei

Lina Mantei age 70 of Warren died August 20, 2012 at Evangelical Home in Sterling Heights Michigan. Lina was born October 10, 1941 in Litzmannstadt Germany the daughter of the late Herrmann Siebert and the late Linda (nee: Drews) Siebert.Lina's family migrated to Australia following the war and she graduated from High School in Australia. She later came to the United States to study at Anderson College in Indiana, where she would meet her future husband Emil. The two studied together and eventually went to Indiana University for Master Degrees. Lina finished her education and taught German. Because both Lina and her husband were educators they moved to where the best opportunity presented itself, however Emil wished to return to his roots and the family settled back near Springfield Illinois to raise their family.Lina loved to learn, teach, and meet people. She truly was a selfless person who put others ahead of herself even when she herself was not feeling well. Lina was a person that others took to quickly' even when she moved to Michigan to be closer to her son, the new church she joined welcomed her in with open arms, and she embraced them as well.Lina was the beloved wife of the late Emil Mantei, and the dear mother of Jeffrey Mantei, and David Mantei. She was the loving grandmother of Leah, Rebecca, Noah, Esra, and the dear sister of Fred (Alison) Siebert, Elaine (Len) Dyall, and Heidi Siebert. Visitation for Mrs. Mantei will be Wednesday from 5-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ' Mile). Mrs. Mantei will lie in state Thursday, 10:00am at Woodside Bible Church-Warren Campus until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30am. Officiating the Services will be Pastor Dan Stewart. Her Graveside Service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, August 25th at Oak Ridge Cemetery, 1441 Monument Road, Springfield, Illinois 62702.Memorial donations are appreciated to Woodside Bible Church Warren Campus, 27300 Hoover Road / Warren, MI 48093.
