Loretta Joan Dobek, age 80 of Warren, died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren. She was born April 11, 1936 in Detroit, daughter of the late Stephen and the late Leona (nee: Poplawski) Sobieski.Born and raised in Detroit, relocations would take Loretta to Hamtramck and ultimately to the new & burgeoning community of Warren. Warren is where her roots took hold, but not much could really hold her down as Loretta enjoyed a penchant for travel. From the many cruises she sailed to the scenic splendor she took in through the places visited over the years, Loretta simply enjoyed building upon her travel portfolio,…especially over the past 27 years with her friend, Bill.Another source of traveling she held dear was each and every trip she enjoyed to the casinos. There was simply something exhilarating about giving Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money, and Loretta knew how to work some magic with those one-armed bandits. Bring it home to Mama! Many will remember Loretta for her love of collectibles. She found sweet enjoyment in collecting old and antique things,…like her friend, Bill (as he puns). She was also quite the people-person and loved being engaged socially. From the party girl that resided within, to the fun and frivolity shared with her friends in the Senior Club, Loretta was at her best when sharing life with others. And often this would take on a different light through her involvement at church. A devout and faithful member of Transfiguration Church in Detroit, Loretta was very active in a host of different venues within the church and loved being a vessel of God's goodness and caring. She truly was a blessing and possessed the heart of a servant,…and now she rests safely in His arms.Loretta was the beloved wife of the late Edward Dobek. Longtime companion of William Joseph Parus. Loving mother of Darlene (Donald) Peebles, and the late Donna Dobek. She was also the cherished grandmother of Daniel Peebles, Christopher Dobek, and Deanna Peebles. A Memorial Service for Loretta will be held Wednesday, November 23rd at 11:00 am at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. The family welcomes guests from 10:00 am until the time of her service. Please share memories of Loretta at her memory book above.
