

Louis DeMello, 84, of St. Clair Shores died Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Abbey Nursing Home, Warren. Louis joined the Navy to fight for his country during WWII. After his discharge he graduated from Wayne State University with both a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a Masters of Arts through the G.I. Bill. He enjoyed golfing, running and sketching. For Louis his family always came first. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Louis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary; children, Robert, David, Janet (John) Cullen and Jennifer (John) Fodera; grandchildren, Jenny, Steven, Brad, Ryanne, Alyssa, Amanda, Matthew and Michael; great grandchildren, Anastasia, Dominic and Aria; brother, William; and special cousins, Colomba, Antionette, Connie and Mary. Visitation for Louis will be Friday from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common (12 Mile). A scripture service will be Friday at 7:00 pm. He will be in state Saturday, 11:30 am until the Mass at 12:00 noon at St. Lucy Catholic Church, St. Clair Shores. Interment will take place privately at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Louiss family would like to say an extra special thank you to the staff at Abbey Nursing Home for all the care they showed for him during his stay.
