Louis, (Bob), and l lived in the same neighborhood and attended Jr. High  and High School together.  Many happy days  together (but not enough).  Now GodBless you as you sleep, forever safe in the arms  of our Lord.

I’m sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. In the 60’s Bob, Jerry Glowski and my husband, Norm Kuhr called themselves the ‘GM Men’. They loved their GM cars and spent hours washing and waxing them,  they were inseparable. They spent many evenings trolling A&W and Big Boy parking lots. As sometimes happens in life the  years separated these best friends, but the three of them are together again and l know it’s a happy reunion. Bob and Jerry stood up in my wedding, bow hunted at my father’s cottage and attended my daughter’s Christening & 1st birthday. Good times and good friends, never to be forgotten.

We're so sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Skop. He was such a kind man. He was a patient at our dental office and we always looked forward to his visits. We enjoyed seeing the pictures of him, there was definitely more to his personality than we saw! Karaoke?!!

I was a bartender at the Landing. LOUIE would come in there and always make me laugh but sometimes make me mad. He loved to sing karaoke. I would have to cut him off before the first song and make him drink water before karaoke would start. And after the end of singing his one song he would announce to the whole bar that I was cutting him off and kicking him out. He will be missed by anybody and everybody that has ever met him. 

So sorry to hear of Louie’s passing.  He was always a kind person and fun to talk to.  Rest in peace Grindstone Louie.

On behalf of my father, Mark Skop, and the rest of our family, I want to thank all of you for reaching out and sharing the memories you had with my beloved Uncle Bob. I’m going to miss him so much. He was always the sweetest and kindest Uncle to me and I am so grateful for all of the memories we had together. Everything from dinners with him and Grandma, summers in Port Austin, and my surprise show ups at his favorite hangouts and having a drink together. Cheers to my Uncle Bob. Rest in Power. We love you. ❤️

So saddened to hear about Lou.  I will miss him very much and talking about his beloved Trans Am! I was always so nice to see his smiling face at the PAB gate and chatting with him at Shelly’s. Love to Lou’s family and deepest sympathy. Thoughts and prayers, from his friend,Bobbie Posselius

I knew Louis for 30+ years.  I cleaned up his lawn every fall in Grindstone.  I worked with him at Pointe Aux Barques.  He was a very kind soul and I will definitely miss visiting with him.  Every year I would ask him when he was going to sell me his Trans Am, he would always say “ Maybe next Year!”   Rest easy old friend….We will miss him at the gate at Pointe Aux Barques.

Louis will be greatly missed at Pointe Aux Barques.  He was a faithful Guard for many years.  Our Deepest condolence and prayers are with his family at this tragic time.  I'll always remember Louis fondly.  I would often see him in Port Austin and stop and chat with him.  He was the friendliest guy I knew.  I will miss him and remember him always.

To Mark Skop, and the entire family, I wish to express my sincere and deepest sympathy, during this time. I only knew Lou for a little over eight years, but we became good friends, working together for Pointe Aux Barques Township, in the Security Guard department. Lou and I, shared a fondness and love, of classic cars, and we would have fun discussing old cars together! To me he was like an older brother in many ways. I miss Lou dearly, but death is not the end....we will see him again someday, and that will be a glorious day indeed...because GOD is good. Paul Fulton
