Louis E. Trombley, age 80, died July 22, 2009 at the Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren. The son of Philip & Eileen Trombley, Louis was born on September 20, 1928 in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. It is the same city from whence he graduated, a student of St. Paul's High School. Just a few years later, Louis' life was gloriously changed when he promised himself to the love of his life, Marlene. The two went on to share 58 years together, growing more in love with each passing day. With his entreprenurial spirit lighting the way, Louis started his own business, "Five Pointes Landscaping," and spent 40 years bringing beauty to many of the homes in the five Grosse Pointe communities. When the weather turned wintry, he would often be found manning a snowplow or working with the Monroe Calculating Company. When Louis wasn't working, he enjoyed spending his time watching and keeping up with sports. But when it was time to play sports, he found great satisfaction in the game of golf. He also enjoyed music, one of his favorites being that of the Big Band era. But of all the things that Louis will be remembered for, his "love for people" will stand out the most. Throughout his life, he made a lasting impression on everyone he met with his infectious smile and personality. And when it came to love, his family was the dearest thing to his heart. He treasured each & every moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren. He will truly be missed. Beloved husband of Marlene (nee: Bretz). Dear father of Ken (Bonnie), Karen (Carl) Labish, and David. Loving grandfather of Scott, Meghan (Travis), Jason, Kyle and Taylor. Brother of Joanne (Steve) Zelle. Visitation for Louis will be on Sunday from 3:00-9:00pm, with a 5:00pm Rosary service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren. He will lie in state on Monday from 10:00am until time of Mass at 10:30am at St. Edmund Catholic Church, 14025 Twelve Mile Road in Warren. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207. Please share memories at Louis' guest book.
