

Madeleine Marie LaCoursiere (nee: Gabrieau), age 78 of Warren, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk Ohio. Madeleine was born November 29, 1929 in Windsor Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Frank Gabrieau and the late Elizabeth (nee: Chevalier) Gabrieau. She was raised in Canada and eventually moved to Michigan with her husband and family in the late 1950's. Madeleine and her family moved to Warren where she would raise her family and reside for over 47 years. Mrs. LaCoursiere worked as a latch-key mother at Cromie Elementary caring for the young children until her retirement. When she was not working she was an avid Bingo player, gardener, and great mother to all. Her family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her passion. Also Mrs. LaCoursiere was a great citizen activist, standing up and voicing her opinion on what she believed to be right and best for the local community. She often proved to be a formidable opponent when challenging local public servants on many important issues. She believed in positive leadership diligently campaigning for Carmella Sabaugh and Sam Petitto. Survivors of Mrs. LaCoursiere include her children, Philip, Denise (Mike) Alexanian, Paul, Michele Ervin, and Nicole LaCoursiere. She is the dear sister of Shirley, Alice, and Paul Gabrieau, and also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Madeleine will be Sunday from 2:30-9 pm with an evening Rosary Service 6:00 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). Mrs. LaCoursiere will lie in state Monday 10 am, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, until the time of the Funeral Mass 10:30 am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev. Fr. William Siebert.
