

Marcia E. Boehm age 58 of Troy Michigan died Monday April 8th, 2013 at her home in Troy. Marcia was born June 30, 1954 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of Marcella Kanger and the late Harold Boehm.Marcia was raised in Fraser Michigan and graduated from Fraser High School the class of 1972. She later attended and graduated with a Masters of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. Marcia worked from 1976 until 1991 at Providence Hospital where she was the Director of Social Workers. Marcia's disability did not stop her from working from her home. As a result, Marcia developed her own business known as, Person Ability, as well as with Southwest Women's Educational and Empowerment Program, "SWEEP" through Madonna University, acting as a coodinator. When Marcia was not working she was a tireless advocate for people with disabilities and was in constant contact with all the media outlets providing a voice for the disabled. She also loved traveling and wherever Marcia traveled the odds were someone would know and talk with her. Marcia played wheelchair tennis and made her own jewelry, however her passions in her life were championing her cause for disabilities, doting on her children and granddaughter, and pampering her dear dog Tiffany.Marcia is survived by her cherished children, Alex Peterson, and Lana (Christopher) Lucka. She is the beloved daughter of Marcie (John) Kanger, and the late Harold Boehm. She was the loving grandmother of Ava Marie Lucka, and sister of Rusty Boehm, Mike Boehm, and Kris (Mike) Larson. Marcia is further survived by dearest dog Tiffany. Visitation for Marcia will be Saturday from 3-9pm and Sunday from 2-9pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile). Funeral Services will be held Monday 11am at the Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Pastor Bradley Luck. Interment will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit. Please share memories of Marcia at her guest book.
