Margaret was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Grace Palazzolo (Misuraca). She grew up in a strong Italian neighborhood on Detroit's east side. The family were members of Nativity of Our Lord Church. Margaret attended school in Detroit and was a proud graduate of Eastern Commerce High School, Class of 1955. She worked in the family construction business for a number of years as a bookkeeper. While working full-time and taking care of her parents and sister, Margaret was able to earn an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Macomb Community College. Subsequently, she obtained a position in the Finance Department at Volkswagen of America, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. With excellent work skills and strong sense of loyalty, she steadily advanced in the company before moving to a position at FANUC Robotics, from where she retired in the late 1990's.
At Margaret's core was the absolute devotion to her parents and sister, as she never failed to place their needs first in her life. Her commitment to them and the family will always be remembered as we cherish her memory. Margaret is survived by her beloved brother Thomas and his wife Elaine, thirteen nieces and nephews, sixteen great-nieces and nephews, and one (soon to be three) great-great-nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Uncle Julius Misuraca, brother Joseph (Velma), brother Sam (Margaret), sister Sarah, and brother Vito (Virginia).
Our "Aunt Margaret" gave each of us love and support. We can never forget the example of family love she gave us, and of course we will never forget the yummy Biscotti.
Margaret will lie in state on Tuesday, December 21st at 9:00am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Rd, Warren, MI 48093.
Arrangements entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
