Marie Catherine Carr, age 87, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026. Born on January 30, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Robert and Angeline Trombat, Marie lived a beautiful life centered around love, family, kindness, and caring for others.
Marie was the beloved wife of the late Clinton Carr, who was the love of her life. Together, they built a loving home and raised a family that was the center of Marie’s world. She was a proud and devoted mother to Larry (Ida) Carr, Julia (Philip) Doletzky, David Carr, Donna Carr, Connie Carr, and Brian (Christa) Carr. Being a mother was one of her greatest joys, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for her husband and children. Marie was a cherished grandmother to Samantha, Alyssa, Joel, Sarah, Nicole, Danillo, Savannah, Brian, Megan, and Hunter, and a loving great-grandmother to Matthew, Peyton, Connor, Kenzie, Melody, and Brooklyn. Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clinton; her parents, Robert and Angeline Trombat; and her siblings Tony, Tina, Tootsie, Lulu, Benny, and Bobby.
She took tremendous pride in her grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events, always cheering them on and enjoying every opportunity to watch them grow. She treasured time spent with her family and was always among the last to leave family gatherings, never wanting the special moments together to end. Known for her gentle spirit and sweet nature, Marie was one of the kindest people anyone could know. She was never cross with anyone, never swore, and always treated others with warmth and compassion. Her caring nature was evident in the way she lived every day. Even when family and friends called to check on her, she would turn the conversation around to ask how they were doing. She always put others first and genuinely cared about the people in her life.
Marie showed her love in so many ways, especially through her cooking and baking. She was famous for her homemade pizza and spaghetti, and her pumpkin and apple pies were family favorites. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Marie loved watching television, especially Hallmark and Lifetime movies, and she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. She liked going to the movie theater and making a full experience of it, always enjoying her popcorn. She also loved attending plays and musicals at the Fisher Theatre, appreciating the magic of live performances. Traveling was another passion, and she was fortunate enough to visit all 50 states. She also enjoyed a special trip to Europe with her daughter, creating wonderful memories that would last a lifetime.
Above all, Marie’s greatest happiness came from being surrounded by the people she loved. She was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, a treasured aunt, and a caring friend. Her home, her cooking, her gentle words, and her unwavering interest in everyone else's lives were all expressions of the love she carried in her heart.
