Born in Detroit to the late Leo and Clara Kowalski, Marie was devoted to both her family and her faith her entire life. Married to her husband Leonard for 37 years, as their kids were growing up she made sure all of them we involved in music. Every one of the kids played an instrument and they would play at their dad’s different work functions as “the Daydreamers.” Marie loved to sing and dance to big band music and watching her kids play in the band for many years brought her great joy. The family often took trips to their cabin “up north” in Grayling where she would read or do crossword puzzles. There was a plethora of blueberry bushes for the kids to pick from and then Marie would make blueberry pancakes for the whole family. Marie was a proud grandmother, and in many ways when her children had children of their own, it sparked a new joy for life chasing after them and playing games with them. Marie would do anything to make her grandkids smile. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many, Marie will be missed dearly by all who survive her.
