Marilyn J. Zawierucha, age 75 of Eastpointe, and longtime resident of Warren, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Henry Ford Macomb Hospital-Warren Campus. She was born on September 15, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. To those who knew Marilyn, the obvious and most prominent recollection would have to be what an incredibly talented cook she was. She knew her way around the kitchen and created some wonderful meals & treats, some of the most special being her stuffed cabbage and pasties. And not just for her immediate family, Marilyn also found great enjoyment in cooking for her "family of friends" at her favorite hangout, Newinski's Bar in Warren. When a special occasion rolled around, you could always count on Marilyn to "put on the food bag" with style. Renown for being the jokester that she was, and her passion for the game of Bingo, the times she spent at Newinski's were the threads that wove the fabric of the friendships that she knew and loved. When she wasn't in the kitchen or out-on-the-town, Marilyn loved to exercize her creative side through crocheting. It must have helped to keep her hands and fingers nimble for all of that pastie folding and cabbage stuffing! Beloved wife of Leonard. Dear mother of Leonard Jr. (Frances), Thomas (Rosalie), Doug, and Sherri (Joseph) Mulrenin. Loving grandmother of Lia (Michael), John (Erica), Joe, Jennifer, and great-grandmother of Carson and Jada. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Pleasae share memories of Marilyn at her guest book.
